Abbot's Ridge
A private family house set into a chalk ridge, drawn from the vernacular of long tiled roofs and rendered walls.
Abbot's Ridge is a single commission on a protected ridge in the Surrey Hills AONB. The plan folds around a walled garden, sheltering the interior from wind and offering long views to the south.
The palette is deliberately narrow: pale render, dark clay tile, blackened steel and untreated oak. The house is designed to be handed down.
